The ethics of counseling, specifically as it applies to marriage and family counseling, and ethical issues in the congregational setting will be investigated. Topics to be addressed include church counseling centers, professionalization, role and function of professional organizations, licensure, and issues of private practice. Statutory law and current legal patterns related to family counseling will be reviewed.
