Contemporary Biblical Preaching (PM.601)
An introduction to the field of homiletics, including the study of its oral, rhetorical, hermeneutical, and poetic traditions together with a brief exploration of future directions in homiletics. Also, students explore the biblical basis for preaching, focusing on why we communicate the gospel and what we communicate to God’s people and to secular people. Student sermons are videotaped, evaluated by peers, and then sermon manuscripts are individually analyzed by the instructor.
