Cary’s life up to this point has not been easy. He has endured much uncertainty about the future, including whether or not his wife would survive a serious illness and a stroke she had just around the time of their son’s birth.

When Cary’s oldest daughter announced she would not be attending college after High School because of her parent’s examples, Cary decided to be a model of endurance for his daughter and complete his undergraduate degree. Taking evening courses in Fresno Pacific University’s degree completion program, Cary did not abandon his other duties as a father and fruit broker.

Once Cary completed his degree he realized God’s call to attend Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary. As a father of three, husband, fruit broker, business owner, and farmer, Cary had a lot on his plate. But none of this got in the way. When he felt God’s call to become a seminary student, Cary did not hesitate. “I have learned that when God tells me to do something, I do it.”

What lies beyond seminary is a mystery to Cary, but he is confident in the Spirit’s leading and says, "I know I’m supposed to be here, I know I’m supposed to be learning", and that is enough for now.

Cary is a MA Theology Student and a member of Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church. He is married to Kamela and they have three children: Jordan, Lauren, and Eli.
