Matthew Ford was a full-time youth pastor for nine years and began to realize his deep desire for a more firm foundation in Scripture. In his first three years of seminary, Matt took one class each semester while continuing to keep one foot in his ministry. Matt is now a full-time student and considers his neighborhood to be his ministry.

Matthew is excited to be a full-time student because of the quality of the faculty at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, and because he loves to learn. “I enjoy classes and the community environment in the classes. The professors are gifted and smart; they know what they teach and they teach it well.”

Living and ministering in downtown Fresno has had great crossover with the things Matthew is learning in seminary. “At seminary you are learning the deepest truths of the Scripture, but in a context so that you can live it and let it seep into your life.” Matthew’s seminary education is applicable to his life.

“Instead of teaching methods of ministry, the seminary gives me a firm biblical foundation for living and teaching. That is the best way seminary can equip me as a leader, and it does that – I’m getting that.”
