Admission under Special Circumstances

Admission with a GPA below 2.5

Students may be admitted on academic probation due to a low GPA by the Academic Committee. Once they have completed a minimum of 12 units of course work for credit, they will be evaluated for a change of status. Probation will be lifted if a student has successfully completed the units with a minimum 2.50 GPA. The Academic Committee may recommend termination if probation is not lifted.

Admission without a Bachelor's Degree

Students will be considered for admission to Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary into the M.Div., M.A.-CM, M.A.-IM, or M.A.-MFT degrees or one of our diploma/certificate programs without the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree if they have:

  • A minimum of two years of post-secondary education (i.e. 60 semester units)
  • Some years of work experience, preferably in a leadership role
  • Evidence of life experience which has prepared them for graduate theological education

In compliance with the Association of Theological Schools, 10 percent of the annual enrollment in the above programs may be comprised of individuals who do not have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Such students may only pursue the degree or program to which they have applied.

Admission with a Lower TOEFL Score

A student may be admitted with a lower than required TOEFL score by the Academic Committee. However, they must continue to take the TOEFL each semester until a score of 550 (written) or 79 (internet) is achieved. This requirement will be waived if after completion of 12 units a 3.0 cumulative GPA is achieved.
